1. Corsair K100 RGB
While Corsair always had a rather extensive range of mechanical keyboards, a short while ago they introduced a new flagship – the K100 RGB. It sits above the previous flagship, the K95 Platinum, and adds a few interesting features you won’t find on many other keyboards.
First things first, this is a full-size keyboard, and it’s rather massive. The wrist rest at the bottom is detachable, so you can make it a bit smaller if you want, but the macro buttons at the left and the multifunction iCUE control wheel at the top do add a bit of bulk. Of course, this is nothing unexpected, as the K100’s goal is to offer just about everything you need from a keyboard, not to save desk space.
The switches inside are Cherry MX Speed RGB Silver switches, which are guaranteed for about 100 million keystrokes, and have an actuation point at just 1.2mm. This makes actuation lightning quick. Another new feature is Corsair AXON, Corsair’s Hyper-Processing technology that gets you a 4,000Hz hyper-polling, making it four times faster to send a keypress to your computer than any other keyboard on the market.
Aside from this, on the left-hand side, you have six programmable macro buttons that you can set up using Corsair’s iCUE software, and at the top left, you have the multifunctional wheel that you can use for a variety of features. Kicking things off with the design, this is a full-size layout with extra buttons on the left side and the top, and a removable wrist rest at the bottom. The result is a rather large keyboard, so make sure you have enough room for it. It’s built with an aircraft-grade aluminum frame that has been anodized, and it looks stunning. To add to this, it’s very stiff without being too heavy.
On the left side, you have programmable macro keys that you can set up to do just about anything you want. In the top right corner, you have dedicated media keys and a volume roller. These are both great additions that we don’t see enough of nowadays, so it’s great Corsair has included them.
The switches inside are genuine Cherry MX switches, and you have MX Speed or MX Brown to choose from. The MX Speeds come with a really low 1.2mm actuation point, which makes them excellent for gaming as you barely have to press the key for it to register.
You do also get RGB backlight, with LEDs that you can customize beneath the keycaps, as well as on the top edge. Everything can be changed pretty easily, which makes this an easy-to-customize keyboard.

On the outside, the design is rather subtle. There’s nothing too special about it unless you start to look close. You notice the thick cable that won’t fray and be damaged easily. It’s the small things, but the K65 LUX has a lot of them to make it a great pick.
At the bottom is a wrist rest that helps quite a bit with comfort. Due to the design, this is a pretty thick keyboard so the wrist rest does make a pretty big difference. If you remove it, and factor in the fact that this is a tenkeyless design, you will find that it’s a pretty compact keyboard overall – even the extra buttons at the top don’t add a lot to the overall size.

However, we don’t think you’ll be removing the wrist rest anytime soon considering that this is a tall keyboard. It makes a lot of difference in comfort, and you’ll want it there.

On the outside, this is a rather simple design. The all-black colorway gives it a stealthy, premium look, and it feels expensive in the hand, too. There’s not a lot to it, you only have multimedia controls in the top right and a detachable wrist rest at the bottom, and this combination makes it an overall pretty compact option. Sure, it’s still a full-size layout, but one that won’t take up a lot more space than the buttons themselves do.
Inside you have genuine Cherry MX Red switches. They’re linear and quiet, which makes them perfect for gamers who don’t want any resistance whatsoever when they press a button. Every press of the button feels rather nice like you’re typing on a much more expensive keyboard.
